 ACCREDITATION

McKinley Senior High School is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and the Ohio State Department of Education

 SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY

McKinley Senior High School is an urban comprehensive high school with an enrollment of 1523 students in grades 9 through 12.  The school serves Canton City, home of the Canton Pro Football Hall of Fame. 

 CAREER EDUCATION

McKinley Senior High School is made up of four small schools within the comprehensive school.  Each school has a unique theme with their own principal and counselor.  Career and Technical Programs are offered by our sister high school-Timken which allows our students to spend half the day at McKinley for academics and extracurricular activities and the other half in their career and technical program.  Sophomores begin the career and technical path taking foundation courses.  Approximately 35% of our students pursue career education at Timken.

 ADVANCED/AP/POST SECONDARY COURSES

Advanced placement courses are offered in English Literature, Calculus AB, American History, American Government, Psychology, Chemistry II, Physics, Spanish Language, and Studio Art.  Other accelerated courses are marked as such on the student transcript:

All subjects are used to compute class rank except for Physical Education.  All students are included in the ranking.  Ranking is weighted.

 MARKING SYSTEM

Traditional letter grades are used.  McKinley is on a semester schedule with a total of four nine week periods.
