The Mayor's Scholarship Program will be hosting a Scholarship Fair at Malone University on Wednesday, September 22 from 7:00-8:30pm in the Johnson Center. Participating in the program to date is: Alexandria School, Bowling Green, Fairmont State, Kent State, Miami University, Mount Union, Ohio Technical College, Pepperdine, Univ. of Toledo, Walsh and Malone. The fair is open to all CCS juniors and seniors. The participating schools will have representatives on hand to give students information regarding their school's unique scholarship opportunity. Financial aid reps will also be available to help with the financial aid process.

UPCOMING COLLEGE VISITS:  You may visit with a college representatives three times, provided you have a 2.0 or better GPA.  You must sign up at least one day in advance of the college visit with Mrs. Rodriguez in the athletic office.

Eastern Mennonite:  Monday, September 27, 2010 at 10:30 am.   www.emu.edu Within 12 months of graduation, 98% of EMU graduates are employed, with 91% in their field of study!

Baldwin Wallace College:  Thursday, Sept. 23 at 8:00 am.  www.bw.edu    Size: 3,000 students (average 19 students per class)       Location: Berea, Ohio (suburban Cleveland) Baldwin-Wallace recently joined the ranks of many of the top liberal arts colleges in becoming a test-optional institution.  Students applying to B-W are not required to submit ACT or SAT scores for admission consideration.

Most colleges prefer that you apply online.  Many private institutions will waive the application fee if you do apply online.  Many public and private institutions will waive their application fee if you visit the college - always check first on the web or call the admissions office for their policies.

  • If you apply online, download all the forms needed for your guidance counselor and bring them to your counselor.
  • If you fill out a paper application, make sure it is completely filled out before turning it in to your counselor.
  • Bring in all application materials together, including application, essays, and application fee.  Provide a stamped addressed envelope for mailing your materials to the admission office.  Turn materials in at least a week before any deadline.
  • Many colleges have a seperate application for scholarships.  Look carefully at their websites to apply for all the scholarships you are qualified for.  Watch for scholarship deadlines - many are as early as October 1, 2010!
